Job Overview
We are seeking a visionary and compassionate Chief Medical Officer (CMO) to lead our new outpatient center. The new center will provide exceptional care to children with neurological developmental disorders while aiming to become the leading facility for Pediatric care in the entire region. The ideal candidate will develop and implement medical policies, protocols, and clinical strategies to deliver the highest levels of service quality, scientific excellence, and therapeutic outcomes. They will oversee all medical aspects of the operations and report directly to the CEO.
The candidate will be expected to drive excellence in patient care, foster a culture of innovation and collaboration, and contribute to the development of new clinical programs and services. As a leader, they should have a deep understanding of the complexities of pediatric neurodevelopmental disorders and a passion for delivering exceptional patient care, making a lasting impact on the lives of children and their families.
Responsibilities:
Strategy Creation & Implementation:
- Provide strategic direction and clinical leadership to the medical team, including physicians, therapists, nurses, and support staff.
- Develop and implement medical policies and procedures that comply with local and international standards and guidelines.
- Lead the organization in achieving appropriate and suitable international accreditations and certifications, such as (but not limited to):
- Joint Commission International (JCI) Accreditation
- The Joint Commission's Ambulatory Care Certification
- Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) Accreditation
- The Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC) Accreditation
Performance & Quality Management:
- Responsible for supporting the development of a comprehensive program to continually monitor and improve all aspects of clinical performance.
- Responsible for accurately assessing broad and specific clinical performance, as well as the clinical performance of individuals including:
- Incidence of the translation of a new best practice into the institute’s protocols and operations.
- Frequency of identification of low performing clinical personnel, quantifying their improvement or suitable and timely replacement.
- Frequency of times that clinical personnel actively participate in brand building initiatives in the community.
Research:
- Ensure that the center engages in meaningful research both independently and in close collaboration with international centers of excellence
- Develop, implement and manage the research program.
- Lead the center’s clinical research activities and ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and ethical standards.
Organizational Development & Collaboration:
- Lead and collaborate with a variety of clinical and non-clinical personnel and teams to develop individualized treatment plans for patients with a broad range of neurodevelopmental disorders and to participate in patient consultations, evaluations, and care conferences.
- Develop, manage and engage different personnel and teams for above objectives, including: Pediatric Neurologists, Rehabilitation Medicine Specialists, Occupational Therapists, Physical Therapists, Speech-Language Pathologists, Psychologists, Neuropsychologists, Neurosurgeons and Genetic scientists
Client Management:
- Partner with families and caregivers to educate them about treatment options, support services, and resources available to enhance their child's rehabilitation journey.
- Provide compassionate support, empathy, and guidance throughout the care continuum.
Requirements:
Education:
- A Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree from an accredited medical school in North America, Europe (including U.K.) or Australia
- Board certification in pediatric neurology from a reputable professional organization, such as the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN) or the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (ABPMR)
- A strong understanding of Pediatrics, Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R)
- Home country license and certification to practice
- Currently active license to practice medicine.
Experience:
- At least 10-15 years of experience working in a senior medical management position in a hospital or healthcare organization
- Have published papers in reputable journals, specifically related to pediatric neurological developmental disorders.
- Experience with research and research environment.
- Significant international, multi-cultural exposure and experience.
- Understands and interprets medical centers P&L and financial statements
